    How to choose a door canopy

    Key things to decide before you order.

    • Width and depth

      Go at least 8 to 12 in wider than the door on each side. A deeper canopy keeps more rain off the step.

    • Glass or solid

      Glass canopies let daylight reach the entry. Solid aluminum roofs give more shade and hide dirt between cleanings.

    • Wall and mounting height

      Check for solid framing or masonry above the door and leave clearance for light fixtures and the door swing.

    What wall types can I mount it on?

    Wood framing, brick, block and concrete all work with the right anchors. Siding and stucco need fasteners that reach solid framing behind them.

    Can I leave it out in bad weather?

    Fixed aluminum awnings and canopies stay up year round. Retract fabric awnings in high wind or heavy snow, or add a wind sensor so it retracts on its own.

    How long does installation take?

    Most canopies and fixed awnings go up in two to four hours with two people. Motorized awnings may also need an outdoor outlet within reach of the cord.

    How is it delivered?

    Orders ship by freight to your driveway in the lower 48. The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery window.

    What does the warranty cover?
