How to choose windows and door frames

Key things to decide before you order.

    • Measure the opening

Measure width and height at three points and use the smallest. Note wall depth so the frame sits flush with your trim.

    • Glazing and efficiency

Low-E double glazing and thermally broken frames keep rooms more comfortable. Check ratings against your local energy code.

    • Finish and profile

Slim profiles give a modern look. Match the color to existing doors or window frames, inside and out.

Use the measuring guide before you order and request free finish samples to compare colors. Frame kits are a good DIY project, while exterior windows need accurate flashing, so check our install guide for when to hire a pro.

    Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about sizing, installation and delivery.

    What size should I order?

Measure the rough opening width and height at three points and use the smallest. If your opening does not match a listed size, request a custom quote.

    Should I install it myself?

Interior doors and frame kits are good DIY projects. Exterior sliding doors and windows need accurate leveling and flashing to stay watertight, so many owners hire a pro.

    Are the frames energy efficient?

Exterior doors and windows use thermally broken aluminum with low-E double glazing to limit heat transfer. Interior doors use tempered glass for safety.

    How is it delivered?

Orders ship by freight to your driveway in the lower 48. The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery window.

    What does the warranty cover?

Warranty terms depend on the product and component. We confirm the applicable manufacturer coverage with your order; contact us with your product and order details for help.

    Can I pay over time?

Available payment methods and any installment options are shown before you place your order. Contact our team about payment arrangements for a project quote.
