This design starts with a pickup parked on an open driveway in full desert sun. The cab got hot by mid-morning, and a bulky steel carport would have hidden the front of the house.
A lighter carport
A flat roof aluminum carport on four slim posts shades the truck while keeping the view of the entry open from the street.

Permits and install
